Which corners can you see clearly?
Choose floor corners in the app. Turn on the lights and find a clear view where the floor meets the walls.
You can still calculate and save your sizes.
Cozy Measure is currently an Android app. Its APK download will not install on an iPhone or iPad.

You’ll need a tape measure and somewhere to note two sizes: the room’s longest length and widest width.
Move small items out of the way where practical. Ask someone to help hold the tape if you cannot keep it straight.
Let’s measure the room.
- Find a surface first.Point at a clear patch of floor and move your phone slowly sideways. Wait for Surface found.
- Aim at the first corner and tap Add corner.Keep to the same floor or ceiling throughout this scan.
- Follow the walls in one direction.Add each corner, including changes in shape around an alcove or recess. Do not add the starting corner twice.
- Tap Finish room.Check that the outline matches your room. If a corner is wrong, go back and correct the scan.
- Save the room and choose a carpet size.Check the dimensions and fitting allowance in the app, then tap Calculate carpet size. Product minimum lengths can increase the final cut.

- Check the sizes we read.Confirm the longest length and widest width, calculate your cut, then tap Use these sizes and Shop carpets with my sizes.
You can also use the app’s Shop with these measurements button to transfer sizes directly. If scanning does not work, switch to the tape guide.
- Open Measure and follow its on-screen prompts.Move your phone slowly until it is ready.
- Measure the room’s longest length.Aim at one end, tap +, move to the other end and tap + again. Include door recesses or alcoves that extend the room.
- Measure the widest width.Measure in the other direction and note the units shown.
- Return here with both sizes.Enter them in the next step. A floor area by itself is not enough to choose a carpet cut.
- Measure the longest length.Run the tape straight along the floor between the room’s furthest points. Include door recesses, alcoves and bay windows.
- Measure the widest width.Measure in the other direction, again using the furthest points.
- Write down both original sizes and their units.For example: 4.12 metres long and 3.24 metres wide. Do not add an allowance yet; the next step can do that for you.

A tricky room or staircase?
My room is L-shaped or has alcoves.
In Cozy Measure, include every change of direction when adding corners. With a tape, record every wall on a labelled sketch as well as the longest length and widest width. A single-piece rectangle may produce offcuts. Pile direction, patterns and joins need a separate check.
Furniture hides the floor corners.
Try ceiling mode in Cozy Measure only if a flat ceiling has the same outline as the floor. Scan near a light fitting or textured edge first, then move to the corners. Plain ceilings may not be detected. Ceiling scans do not automatically include floor-only recesses, chimney breasts or different floor levels. Use a tape or ask for help if the outlines differ.
I’m measuring stairs, winders or connected landings.
These need a cutting plan. Do not order from one AR area or rectangle. Take photos of the full staircase and turns, count the steps and make a sketch of the layout. Send the details to Cozy for guidance before ordering.
Why is the purchased area bigger than my room?
You buy the full carpet roll width multiplied by the cut length. Offcuts are normal, and product minimum lengths may apply. A room’s floor area alone is not the amount to order.
Where are my measurements saved?
Rooms in the app stay on that phone. This page saves one current room in this browser for up to 30 days. It replaces the previous saved room when you save another. It does not sync between phones or browsers. You can forget the saved website room below.
What happens to my camera and room details?
The Cozy app uses your camera for AR tracking and keeps rooms on your phone. When you choose Shop with these measurements, it sends the room name, dimensions and outline to our website. Camera photos are not required for that handoff. If you choose a room-plan screenshot on this page, text reading runs on your device; the screenshot is not sent to Cozy or stored with your saved sizes. The free reader downloads its software and language data when needed. Read our privacy policy before using the service.
